What's with Indians & Sugar?!

Image
India is a nation of complex and varied perceptions, seen by some as a spiritual haven, by others as a digital powerhouse, and still by others as a land of poverty. It is known for its maharajas and rich traditions, yet also described as populous, and dirty. Unlike countries like France, synonymous with luxury, or America, celebrated for its freedom, India doesn't have a single identity—it is a vibrant mosaic, a rich land of diversity. This broad spectrum of identities makes India a fascinating topic for a more detailed discussion - will talk about this in detail maybe in another blog. Turning to the topic of "white gold," otherwise known as sugar. India ranks among the countries with the highest incidence of diabetes. Excessive sugar consumption leads to diabetes, obesity and whatnot but has India always been like this? well, sugar was first manufactured in India, a country where a sweet tooth isn't just a preference but a part of the cultural fabric. Indians have ...

Networking is so underrated in India!

Image
From an early age, Indian parents place immense importance on academics , their entire life and some crucial decisions such as budgeting or scheduling vacations depend on their kid's study schedule. We don't stop just there, even after a job, we are so obedient and sincere that we take our jobs too seriously. Well, given our situation i.e. we are a developing economy trying to regain the influence and wealth that we had once upon a time. In such a scenario, it would be anyone's priority to first settle and accumulate wealth and it's correct to go miles for it. But have you ever paused to ask yourself if the rewards you’ve achieved match the effort you and your parents have put in? For many of us, the answer is no. This could be due to the intense competition in India where everyone is striving hard. However, I believe it's also about our approach . Whenever we embark on a certain journey, be it profession or education, we start our research from the very scratch, ...

Did Instagram and Facebook create a divide between us and our parents?

Image
Most of us created our first facebook account 10 to 15 years back. At that time the thought of our parents being on facebook was unimaginable, but soon our parents found a way to facebook and they seemed to be enjoying it more than us. As a result, many of us sought refuge from our parents on Facebook by migrating to Instagram. we found a haven where we could selectively shape our social circles, share our moments freely, and enjoy a break from the increasingly crowded and complicated world of Facebook. This move, however, subtly widened the gap between us and our parents. They were no longer just a room away but rather a whole digital universe apart. They missed out on the snapshots of our daily lives—the quirky cafes we stumbled upon, the late-night adventures with friends, the quiet moments we chose to share with the world. These bits of our lives remained unseen by them, confined to the corners of Instagram, accessible only if we chose to share beyond the digital barriers. ...

Have You Taken Virtual Tours Through Instagram?

Image
If you're in the habit of scrolling through your Instagram feed daily, do you ever feel like you've already visited exotic destinations like Maldives, Thailand, France, Bali, and various parts of Europe? I certainly do. With the proliferation of high-quality cameras and internet access, we now have the ability to virtually explore the world from the palm of our hands. While this may sound exciting at first glance, is it truly fulfilling? Over the past year, my Instagram feed has been inundated with wedding clips and travel stories from these popular destinations. It feels as though I've seen so many of them already that physically visiting these places wouldn't bring the same sense of novelty. It's a double-edged sword—on one hand, having abundant information at our fingertips can lead to smoother travel experiences with fewer hiccups, but on the other hand, it robs us of the excitement and wonder of discovery. This experience highlights the challenge of finding g...

Life can be very fulfilling in a small town?!

Image
The title might sound absurd to many of you living in metros, but if you have ever lived in a small town (Population ranging from 1 to 2 million), you might agree! If you have grown up watching or reading those fictional fairytale-like stories imagining yourself as the protagonist of the story, trust me! those things actually happen in small towns. To boost your imagination, if you have seen the "Gilmore Girls" web series - the fictional town "Stars Hollow" life is what I am talking about here with " la la la..." playing in the background. I have lived in such a town for almost 15 years and looking back now I can totally resonate. In small towns, everyone is friendly, there are big bungalows, clear air, the weather's not too hot and the vibe is very peaceful. I never fully appreciated the unique charms of growing up away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. It's only now, after spending nearly as much time living in metropolitan areas, t...
